Project Spread: Showing Love Through The Gospel

It is the mandate of the church to go into the world and preach the gospel. The greatest of this gospel is that of love. It is a core responsibility of the Christian to show love to all irrespective of religious and cultural backgrounds.

House on the Rock has taken this mandate seriously as displayed over the years through its outreach program, Project Spread. Project Spread is a love laced program aimed at making the Christmas season a memorable one for families around Lagos State. This is done by donating food items, clothes, medical supplies and more to families in selected local government areas so they have a reason to celebrate joyfully during the Yuletide season.

Last year, over 2,400 families across 4 different local government areas were beneficiaries of the Project Spread outreach. The Christmas-themed giveaway had families receiving food items and free medical supplies. It was done simultaneously at Makoko, Ijesha, Lagos Island (Isale Eko) and Jakande communities across Lagos state. This year, Project Spread is scheduled to visit Lagos Island, Sangotedo, Ajegunle and Elegushi communities, on the 17th of December 2016.

The Senior Pastor, House on the Rock church, Pastor Paul Adefarsin, will be present at some of the locations to present the gifts to the families gathered and share uplifting words as is his usual style. Free health consultation and supplies will also be distributed.

Lagos State can be better when the church plays its part. With Project Spread, the church is delivering on its commitment to putting smiles on thousands of faces this Christmas and in turn, making Lagos State a better state, one family at a time.

Review: Kanye West's 'Ultralight Beam.'

‘Ultralight Beam’ is a song recorded by American rapper and fashion mogul Kanye West.   It features efforts from The Dream, Kelly Price, Chance The Rapper and Kirk Franklin. Charged with black power and choral performance, ‘Ultralight Beam’ stands bold and fearless, yet gentle to the touch with its message that takes on issues as suppression, hope, faith and resilience  that form the block of ‘Life Of Pablo’ album.    'Ultralight Beam' is a Gospel in its arrangement and instrumentation that seamlessly infuses jazz flavours accentuated through resounding horns.   What really sets the pace on ‘Ultralight Beam’ remains its subtlety in the way it gives room for each act to vocally express themselves. The track sets off on the zestful vocals of 4 years old Natalie Green, culled from a YouTube video that sees Green pray for her family shortly before they embark on a journey. The infusion of Green's vocals easily buys the emotions of the liste...

Has Adele Blurred Her Bright Future After The Grammys?

Last week, Adele stomped out every single competition in all five nominated categories, performed twice on the big stage, and exercised the graceful audacity to restart a tribute performance of the late George Michael, saying that it wasn't perfect at the first take.    The British vocalist’s   wins didn’t top the evening's conversation, rather, it was her blatant worship to the Queen Bey who lost to her in all categories they were both nominated in.   In Adele profession, she felt the “Lemonade” album was well thought-out and deserves to win over her “25” album.   Soaked in tears, Adele said: "I can't possibly accept this award, and I'm very humbled and very grateful and gracious, but my life is BeyoncĂ©. And the album to me, the Lemonade album, BeyoncĂ©, was so monumental and so well thought out. And so beautiful and soul-baring and we all got to see another side of you that you don't always let us see, and we appreciate that. And all us...
